An update on T & P

As Polly fast approaches her sixth birthday, I thought I’d do a little update on both girls.

P O L L Y

It’s hard to believe Polly is almost at the end of Year 1. Her short school life has been so disrupted, but she remains relatively unfazed! Her best friends in class are Martha, Rosie and Isabella, and outside of school she hangs out with Olivia and Sam. Polly is enjoying doing choir for lunch club at the moment, but has just given up on ballet after over two years.

Polly still absolutely adores her ‘boffs’ and has quite a collection of them now. She has even asked for more for her birthday! At home she loves watching mindless videos on Youtube, playing computer games (especially Minecraft), and getting involved in a game of roleplay with Tabitha that usually ends in tears!

Polly has just lost her first baby tooth and has two others very close to falling out! She still wets the bed most nights and we have just returned to ‘pyjama pants’ after many months of wearing knickers overnight and washing bedding everyday. She is also quite lazy with her toilet habits during the day and often has accidents. Polly is also riddled with moluscums, although I think they’re gradually going. Tabitha had them prior to Polly too, but hers have thankfully all cleared up now. For this reason the girls never share a bath anymore.

Polly can be really, really loud and overly-confident at times, but she also turns meek and shy the second she’s not comfortable with something or someone. She can be really annoying towards Tabitha and is still too quick to dish out a whack. She throws out insults on a regular basis, especially to Tom, who is often called a poo-poo head, or baby face! To sum up, she can be quite a handful!

T A B I T H A

Tabitha’s best friend Kiki left Thomson House in March, which hit Tabitha hard. Her and Kiki had been inseparable since Kiki joined in Year 1, and Tabitha has struggled to find some new girl mates to hang out with. She seems to play a bit with Rachel, Malaya or Julia R at break time now and she hangs out a lot with Jamie and Monty both in and out of school.

Tabitha is doing really well in school. She currently enjoys football and lego robotics as her clubs and has also been put into a maths club with Mrs Letch. She is now in her last couple of months of being in lower school and will be moving to the Vernon Road site come September.

At home, she is absolutely obsessed with mermaids at the moment and loves watching Mako Mermaids on Netflix, playing with her mermaid dolls, reading her Secret Mermaids chapter books and doing drawing upon drawing of them. Prior to the mermaid phase she was really, really into witches, and before that dragons, so I think we are going to have lots of these phases with Tabitha! She also enjoys playing games on the computer and bickering with her sister!

Tabitha has recently started doing gymnastics on a Sunday and is really enjoying it. Her good friend from Stepping Stones, Naina goes too. She has also started going to a youth club on a Friday evening with Jamie, Monty and Luke. She also adores swimming, although we haven’t been for absolutely ages and it’s really hard to go at the moment as you have to book a slot in advance. She loves having long baths too, so she’s a bit of a water baby at the moment!

The country is slowly easing out of lockdown 3 now, although a new variant (the Indian variant) is taking hold and there are threats of a third wave. Tom and I have both had our first dose of vaccine and we are all really, really hoping we can get to Clacton next week to see Nanny Pam for the first time since last August. Oh, and I’ve finally signed with an agent!
